“Any reason for practicing yoga is a good reason. Enhancing flexibility and releasing stress are as noble a purpose for performing yoga as the awakening of spirtuality. This is the great gift of yoga – it serves and nourishes us at every level of our being and spontaneously contributes to the greater well being in all domains of life.”
Deepak Chopra, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga |
About Krista
Krista has been a certified yoga instructor since 2002, and has been practicing yoga since 2000. She has taught at many locations all over the valley since 2006, privately and in facilities ranging from retreat centers to churches to athletic clubs. Krista began practicing yoga after training for a marathon that resulted in a running related injury. What began as a way to heal her body, transformed into a love for the art of yoga. This translated into a connection between the mind, body and soul through movement, breath-work and meditation. She has studied various disciplines of yoga ranging from Ashtanga to Restorative with teachers including Patabhi Jois, Shiva Rea and Rod Stryker.
Krista currently teaches weekly group classes that focus on a Vinyasa style approach, connecting movement with breath while integrating restorative poses into each class. She works with students in a wide range of abilities and ages, from beginners to seniors to mothers-to-be. She especially enjoys working one-on-one with clients to identify and focus on individual needs.
Krista grew up in a suburb outside of Chicago and attended the University of Iowa. After pursuing an Art related career in Chicago, Krista traveled extensively through Central and South America. Since, she has resided in major cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles. Krista moved to Bigfork in 2006 after meeting her now husband and to be closer to family. Krista's passions include yoga, art, gardening, travel, food and her family! In addition to yoga, her career lies in Art and Design. She's also a happy mother of two sweet and loving boys.
